In 1987, my mom opened First Lady Nails, one of the first nail salons in the San Gabriel Valley. It thrived for years, but as client expectations shifted, the salon struggled to keep up. After several years without a buyer, she approached Kimi and me about buying it.

We saw the challenge, but more importantly, the potential; an opportunity to create something entirely new. In 2015, we took the leap, buying the struggling salon and transforming it into BeautyBar, a sanctuary where self-care is an experience, not a transaction. Built on quality, connection, and intention, BeautyBar is a space where every guest feels valued, and every visit is meaningful.
